4. Dancing

They were dancing now. Their bodies entwined together moving slowly and passionately. Everything was saying yes apart from the nagging voice in the back of her mind that was telling her that this was wrong.

The wrong place, the wrong time, the wrong man.

Natalia had slipped away from her own engagement party to get fresh air, only to wake up from a blackout in a dark dancing club. Her subconscious had taken her there, her body on auto-pilot. She had to escape from her betrothed, 20 years her senior, only marrying due to pressure and power. Not at all what she had always dreamed of marrying for love and passion.

Of course her dancing partner was unaware of all this conflict within her mind. All he read from her body was flirtation and lust.

She was a master of disguise.

Johnathon was a frequent dancer at the club, always hoping that one night he would meet the woman of his dreams and they would run off together into the night and never look back. That was his dream anyway, a hopeless romantic. There aren’t many of them left nowadays. They say romance is dead and for most of the world it’s true. However holding this stranger close as they danced, in their world the romance was alive and stronger than ever.
