The February Club

Dear All who read this

How are things? We made it through January in some pretty bleak and boring times here in the UK as we still on lockdown but making the most of our Gov permitted exercise. I’m just writing a post as I’m curious who else (if anyone) is keeping up with habits they either set as New Years resolutions or started in January?

Did you start a new exercise plan? How is it going? What have you found to be the best way to build your habits and stick to them?

This year I have tried my best to stick to at least 10k steps a day and have been cycling to work on the days I can. These two habits I have found to be pretty successful in my compliance with them as I try to fit them around my daily routine. To boost my steps I have taken to waking up around 30mins – 1 hour earlier than I was getting up. This is great as it gives me time to walk a mile listening to my audiobooks then sit and meditate for 10mins listening to some chill music ( Calmed by nature on YouTube). This I have found helps me stay grounded all day in the past couple weeks that I have been waking up before I need to.

Another great tip I found on the depths of YouTube self improvement videos was moving my alarm clock to the other side of the room to stop me snoozing. I am a chronic snoozer (or was) until I tried this trick. Not going to lie, it is grim to wake up and dash across the room to turn the alarm off but I haven’t snoozed my clock yet! Would definitely recommend this to a friend!

I’m always intrigued to find new ways to improve myself, if anyone reading this has any tips or habits they have found really help to stay motivated and chilled throughout the day please leave me a comment below!

Wish you the best of luck on your habits and habit forming!

Remember if you don’t do it for one day just make sure you do it the next! (Don’t be too hard on yourself!)
